What is road roller ( how it operates and its design)

Initially the roads and different sites have been compacted with the help of horse drawn roller. As the man has made progress this slow and less efficient compaction process is replaced with the efficient and effective diesel engine road roller.

The compaction of road determines the quality of road the better compaction means more smooth and flawless road. Diesel engine road roller is being used by almost all developed nations for the construction of smooth and compact road. The design of road roller consist a heavy drum, a cab, and wheel. The weight of road roller plays the key roll the more the weight is the better it is. Cab is place where the roller operator sits and wheels make the roller move.

In some roller the drum is filled with water to make it more heavy and even it is easy to make movement within different sites the operators fills the drum when required and can empty it while movement for other site this reduce cost of fuel and movement. Modern road roller are also using ballet steel in the drum for the purpose of making it heavy and using vibration in the drum for getting maximum compaction.
